Our Mission

The first act of doing is noticing.

When you live, work and play in Byron every day—you see things. People in the 2481 postcode are the ears + eyes of this magical place. (Current population 7500)

A collage of six images: a sunset with graffiti and palm trees, a lighthouse on a coast at sunset, a dense forest with twisting trees, a graffiti alleyway, a crowd at an outdoor event, and a clothing display with a T-shirt, in Byron Bay.

We exist to protect the soul of our beach town and surrounding residential suburbs—its living history, fragile environment, and the Arakwal cultural past, present, and future. We’re living in an age where money talks, but connection is power. There is real strength in community-led movements.
We stand for stewardship over speculation, belonging over buy-in, and creating memories over short-term benefits. Our mission is to respect and protect the Bundjalung land, stories, and rhythms that shaped this place—and to help guide growth that comes with genuine responsibility and connection to the community.
This place is not a commodity. It is a shared inheritance. Will you join us?

Our mission is to ensure the community has a clear, collective voice in decisions that shape our town’s future—defending the hard-fought values that define its character and spirit.

WHAT WE DO:
We make submissions to the Council
We attend community meetings
We liaise with other community groups in the Shire.
We will advocate for residents & small businesses
We are connected with schools and families
We aim for meaningful impact
We can all be guardians and caretakers

Currently, residents and local businesses in the 2481 postcode are struggling with tired infrastructure, a lack of clear vision for the town, a 10 year old Masterplan, and an impending SEP. Many in the community feel the level of engagement from Byron Shire Council (BSC) is lacking on several key issues.
There is strength in numbers, Be connected.

We’re here to remind
Council, State and Federal Government that the people who live, work & own businesses—love this town.

  • We want to maintain essential services
We aim to respect + protect what we have
We value the Development Control Plan (DCP) & want to retain building heights.
We want to Crown land, nature reserves, public spaces and halls available for the community.
We are pro-murals, mosaics & public art.
We like dogs~but we LOVE koalas.
We love festivals + community events.
    We don’t like traffic lights
    We like the multi-generational vibe
    We love independent voices like
    Bay-FM & The Echo
