Our Mission

The first act of doing is noticing.

When you live, work and play in Byron every day—you see things. People of Byron are the ears + eyes of this town. (Current population 7500)

A collage of six images: a sunset with graffiti and palm trees, a lighthouse on a coast at sunset, a dense forest with twisting trees, a graffiti alleyway, a crowd at an outdoor event, and a clothing display with a T-shirt, in Byron Bay.

Our mission is to be a collective voice in decisions that affect the future look and feel of our town.

We’re here to remind Council and the State Government that the people who live, work & own businesses—love this town.

We want to maintain essential services
We aim to respect and protect what we have
We value the Development Control Plan (DCP) & want to retain building heights.
We want to Crown land, nature reserves, public spaces and halls available for the community.
We are pro-murals, mosaics & public art.
We like dogs~but we LOVE koalas.
We love festivals + community events.
We don’t like traffic lights
We like the multi-generational vibe
We love Bay-FM

WHAT WE DO:
We make submissions to the Council
We attend community meetings
We liaise with other community groups in the Shire.
We will advocate for residents & small businesses
We are connected with schools and families
We aim for meaningful impact
We can all be guardians and caretakers

Currently, residents and local businesses are struggling with the tired infrastructure, a lack of clear vision for the town (ie SEP), and the level of engagement from Byron Shire Council (BSC) on several key issues.
2025 is a good year for Byron to come together.
